Overview
This is the defining moment in Neil Young’s expansive career - it showcases the raw energy and emotional intensity that would become a trademark of Neil Young’s music. This was also the start of the beautiful relationship between Neil Young and his backing band, Crazy Horse, whose gritty, unpolished sound perfectly complemented Young’s emotional songwriting. Tracks here, some lasting a lengthy 9 or 10 minutes, actually leave you wanting them to go on for double the length - these unique jams, halfway through the songs, could go on for hours, and listeners would still be wanting more. The production throughout is straightforward and completely honest; this is exactly how Neil Young is, and how he intended to be. A timeless, raw album that should be in anyone's music catalog.
Recommended for people looking to convert into a full-time Country Rock listeners.

Although the album cover is of low quality, it’s great and suits the era and mood of the album - not everything incredible has to be perfect. All we needed for a Country Rock album was a Country Rock legend taking a breather in the sun with a dog in the American mountain range - absolutely classic.
