Overview
IDLES have produced a ferocious and absolutely unapologetic album that channels raw energy and emotion into an assault on societal norms. It showcases the band’s signature blend of Punk aggression and Post-Punk intricacy, with pummelling rhythms, jagged guitar riffs, and iconic Talbot vocals from the lead singer. There’s a bit of dark humour within the album, but it still tackles themes of masculinity and mental health, delivered with both anger and vulnerability. The production throughout is gritty and visceral, fully capturing their live energy, yet you’ll still hear an experimental side to IDLES, with moments of unexpected tenderness and softer emotion than we’re perhaps used to from the band. It’s a statement album that solidifies IDLES’ place as a vital voice in modern punk - even if they don’t consider themselves a punk band.
Recommended for people on a journey of personal struggle looking to take their anger out on societal norms.

It’s a very striking album cover featuring a bold, vibrant illustration of smoke, presumably coming from a ‘TANGK’. It represents the raw energy and intensity of the music within. The cover conveys aggression and offers a visual representation of the powerful themes and sonic force of the album.
