Overview
This album marks a pivotal moment in Kings Of Leon’s career. This Southern Rock roots band suddenly thought, ‘We want to fill stadiums,’ and created a record capable of doing just that. This album catapulted the band into global stardom and showcased a piece of work that combined atmospheric production, catchy tunes, and anthemic rock songs designed for a late-night drive. It is incredible how well they created songs that are powerful and expansive in their soundscape - reverberated, echoing guitars, driving rhythms, and soaring raspy vocals are enough to grasp anyone’s attention. This album reveals a darker and more powerful side that Kings of Leon had never been brave enough to showcase before. Don’t let the overplayed radio hits put you off listening to this album; it’s much more than that, and you’d be missing out on some absolute hidden gems by avoiding it.

Recommended for radio lovers and emotional rockers alike.

I think the darker mood of this cover matches the vibe of the album well. It’s a combination of all four band members, which is only really noticeable by recognising Caleb in the top left. I’m not a fan of merging all four of them into what almost resembles an eagle - I think it could have worked, but it wasn’t quite achieved as well as it could have been.
