Overview
Synths drive this album forward throughout, but guitar almost pulls it back and creates a piece of work that you can sit back and enjoy freely. John and Josh really compliment each other in this. John has normally utilised an electronic atmosphere in his work, but these arpeggiated synths form a unique vibe for him here. An album of two halves - John Frusciante and then Josh Klinghoffer - yet it feels like a complete body of work. I think I prefer the first half of this album, but Josh has not done a disservice here, not by a long shot. You might not take many songs away from here for the playlists, but it’s a very interesting listen.
