Overview
Somewhat a diary of a madman. This is a piece of art that is from a man at the peak of heroin abuse, and it unfortunately shows. I somewhat believe that madness creates room for genius, and there are aspects of this (double) album that breathes air of a top musician and unbelievable guitarist; but overall, this is a tough listen for most and you’ll be hard pushed to find a whole song that is truly listenable. There is a fine line between experimental brilliance and unlistenable, and I think John Frusciante’s jumps between the two far too often on this album for listeners to really understand which is which.
Recommended for curious John Frusciante fans and those looking to understand the bridge between madness and genius.

Horrible colours, doesn’t stand out and overall just a bit of nothing if you ask me. John took on drag here to incorporate his own feminine alter-ego, Niandra LaDes which is cool I guess. You’d also think the album is called “For Clara”, but this is a message to Flea’s new born baby - obviously(?)
