Overview
’Fishing for Fishies’ is a kaleidoscopic dive into eco-conscious boogie rock. The album uniquely blends Bluesy grooves with retro synths and Psychedelic flourishes, creating a sonic landscape that feels truly original. Like King Gizzard’s previous work, it’s playful yet reflective, balancing Funky rhythms with sharp commentary on humanity’s environmental impact. True to their reputation as musical chameleons, the band shifts effortlessly between genres, constantly keeping listeners on their toes and delivering a captivating album experience. ‘Fishing for Fishies’ strikes a fine balance between accessibility and experimentation - it’s colourful, groovy, and occasionally surreal, offering a journey that’s as thought-provoking as it is fun.
Recommended for anyone looking to get weird and boogie on down.

For King Gizzard, it had to be weird and wonderful - and that’s exactly what this cover delivers. A cyborg fisherman fishing for fish while the world around him burns perfectly captures the album's theme (somehow) - it just works. I also love the touch of flames on the fishing rod, spelling out the band’s name.
