Overview
’Gumboot Soup’ is another kaleidoscopic dive into the band’s versatile sound, offering a softer yet still adventurous contrast to their previous, more conceptual works. Each track feels unique, resulting in a collection of vivid sketches - despite being comprised of songs that didn’t fit other albums - effortlessly blending Psychedelic Rock, Jazz, and even Folk elements. It’s a fun record that shouldn’t be viewed so much as a whole, but rather enjoyed track by track for what each one is - an interesting and refreshing glimpse into King Gizzard’s range without losing their signature charm.
Recommended for King Gizzard lovers for a relaxed Jazzy record with some fun moments.

It fits the theme of the record nicely, with a more jazzy feel and somewhat of an edge reminiscent of the Louisiana Blues and Jazz scene. It’s fun and creative, and it doesn’t take itself too seriously - much like the record itself.
